Mata
It fires you out of every turn.
An all-mountain ski designed for carving, From the groomed trail to the trail edge.
Do you mostly ski at resorts and enjoy stringing together short turns? The MATA is our carving-oriented all-mountain ski. Its 14.5-meter radius lets you make tight turns, its Titanal core holds up on hard snow, and its 90-mm waist gives you plenty of room to maneuver when snow conditions change. Easy to handle right from the first run, it’s perfect for every skier, from your first carved turn to aggressive carving.

Plenty of energy to spare, without tiring out your legs.
Developed and tested at ZAG Lab, our prototyping workshop in Chamonix.
At the ZAG Lab in Chamonix, our shapers set out to create a ski that gives more than it takes. The short radius initiates the turn from the very first pressure, while the wider tip and tail glide through the afternoon’s churned-up snow without catching. The titanal core holds the edge on hard snow, the rubber dampens vibrations, and the rebound stays lively from one turn to the next—from the velvety morning snow all the way to the edges of the run. It took numerous prototypes to achieve this flex: firm enough to launch you forward, yet flexible enough to last all day.
From the lineup: MATA, AROC, or SLAP 92?
The three skis share the resort, but not the same character. The MATA is the most responsive: short turn radius, tight turns, and quick transitions from one edge to the other. The AROC, stiffer and with more camber, is built for high-speed, wide turns on broad slopes. The twin-tip SLAP 92 turns the edges of the slopes into a playground for jumps and skiing in switch. Do you like stringing turns together? Go for the MATA. Do you like speed? Go for the AROC. Do you like playing with the terrain? Go for the SLAP 92.

What level is the MATA designed for?
It responds well right from the first run: its short turn radius makes it easy to initiate turns. It remains challenging for experienced skiers who want to carve aggressively on hard snow.
Is the MATA designed for off-road use?
It’s primarily a piste ski. Its 90 mm waist width gives it enough float to ski just off-piste or in slushy snow. For deep powder, a wider ski like the SLAP 100 or the SLAP 112 will be better suited.
How does it differ from a pure carving ski?
A pure carving ski is narrow and designed exclusively for groomed snow. The MATA features a short radius and a titanal base for carving, but its 90 mm waist width and rubber-reinforced construction keep it stable when snow conditions deteriorate or off-piste.
Which MATA size should you choose?
The MATA is available in 154, 160, 167, 173, 178, and 183 cm, in Racing Red/Black or Ivory/Grenade. A shorter board turns faster and is more forgiving; a longer board offers greater stability as speed increases. To help you decide, check out our size guide.
