Our DNA

Underfoot

We shape the space between people and the mountains.

At the top of a slope, only one thing stands between you and the mountain: the skis under your feet. That’s where it all comes down to. The pressure you apply, the way the snow responds, the choice to hold the turn or let it go. Get the shape right, and the mountain opens up. Get it wrong, and it resists all the way to the bottom. It’s there, on that thin surface, that our craft is put to the test. We shape the ski. The snow, the speed, and the line we choose shape us in return. Season after season, this back-and-forth refines the ski and hones the skier. That’s the whole story of ZAG. And our sole obsession.

Only one culprit

It all started with a determined shaper.

A shaper, a workbench, an obsession. The best possible tip for carving into powder. From this single question emerged a way of working that we’ve kept intact. Shape, ski, refine, ski again. We call this the loop. The workbench has become the Lab. The obsession has become a method. A few pairs of skis have grown into an entire line, for every type of terrain on the mountain. That first question still guides everything we do. How to place the right shape between a skier and the snow.
