The announcement has been made: freeride will be an Olympic sport. In a nutshell, a discipline that originated on the fringes of the racing circuits—one built around the chosen line rather than on stopwatch times and judges’ scores—has been invited to the most prestigious table in world sports.

A historic opportunity or the beginning of the end? The debate is divisive—often heated, rarely calm. This morning’s session isn’t meant to settle the issue, but to lay out the facts: where freeride skiing comes from, who shaped it, how the Olympics are changing things for athletes, judges, circuits, and brands… and what they won’t change.

Featuring Pierre Guyot (host), Julien Regnier (pioneer of alternative skiing), Laurent Besse (FWT head judge), Fabien Maierhofer(pro skier), Ugo Troubat (Freeride World Championship runner-up), Kevin Guri (former FWT rider, coach).
