ABOUT ZAG
Our vision of skiing: freedom, fluidity, reliability
For more than 20 years, ZAG has been crafting skis in Chamonix, staying closely connected to both the mountain terrain and the people who ride it. Our All-Mountain skis embody this approach — versatile models designed for skiers who refuse to compromise between performance and pleasure.
Before venturing onto icy slopes or over inclines, touring ski crampons are an essential ally.
At ZAG, we select reliable, lightweight and easy-to-use models, tested in Chamonix under the most demanding conditions.
At ZAG, we select reliable, lightweight and easy-to-use models, tested in Chamonix under the most demanding conditions.
What are touring ski crampons for?
Touring ski crampons provide extra grip on hard or icy snow, when skins are no longer enough.
They attach directly to the bindings and penetrate the snow with every step, guaranteeing stability and safety when traversing or climbing steep slopes.
They are indispensable safety equipment in the high mountains.
When should I use touring ski crampons ?
Crampons are used as soon as the snow becomes too hard or the slope steepens.
They don't replace skins, but complement them to provide optimum grip in technical sections, overhangs or exposed routes. In freerando, they enable you to move forward with confidence, even when conditions change rapidly.
How to choose the right crampons size?
The width of Touring ski Crampons should be equal to or slightly greater than the width of your skis (generally +2 to +6 mm).
A size too small won't fit properly, while one too large may impede passage. ZAG's PLUM crampons and ATK crampons are available in a range of widths to suit all configurations.
Are crampons compatible with all bindings ?
No, each crampon is designed for a specific type of binding: PLUM Crampons fit PLUM brand Bindings, while ATK Crampons are compatible with ATK Bindings.
Before purchasing, check compatibility with your system to ensure safe and efficient installation.
How to attach and remove touring ski crampons ?
Crampons slide into a rail on the binding, often without tools. Depending on the model, they can be installed or removed ski-to-toe, so you can quickly adjust your equipment to suit the conditions.
A simple gesture to master before any mountain outing.
How to care for your touring ski crampons ?
After each outing, clean and dry your crampons to prevent corrosion. Store them in a cover or cloth to protect the blades and the rest of your equipment.
Occasional sharpening can be useful if the edges become dull, especially after several seasons.
Why choose touring ski crampons from ZAG?
Because ZAG only selects accessories tested and approved in Chamonix, the benchmark for Touring skiing.
PLUM Crampons and ATK Crampons guarantee impeccable grip, low weight and exemplary durability, in keeping with the ZAG philosophy of freedom, fluidity and reliability.
