ABOUT ZAG
Our vision of skiing: freedom, fluidity, reliability
For more than 20 years, ZAG has been crafting skis in Chamonix, staying closely connected to both the mountain terrain and the people who ride it. Our All-Mountain skis embody this approach — versatile models designed for skiers who refuse to compromise between performance and pleasure.
Before hitting the slopes, choosing the right bindings makes all the difference.
At ZAG, each binding is selected to offer the perfect balance between lightness on the way up and power on the way down.
Whether you're into committed freeriding or alpine touring, our bindings guarantee safety, precision and reliability even in the most demanding conditions.

What's the difference between a touring binding and a freeride binding ?
Bindings for touring skis are designed to facilitate ascent: they are lightweight, feature a "walk" mode and free the heel.
Bindings for freeride skiing, on the other hand, are designed for downhill performance: stiffer, more stable and with a precise release, they ensure optimum control on hard snow and powder.
Hybrid models, like the Salomon Shift² 13 MN, combine the best of both worlds.
Which bindings are best for touring skis?
The PLUM OAZO 6 or PLUM OAZO 8 bindings are ideal for light, high-performance uphill skiing. Made in France, they offer excellent reliability for classic touring skiing, while remaining precise on the descent.
More demanding tourers can opt for the ATK Raider 11 EVO, an ultra-technical model for long mountain outings.
Which bindings are best for freeriding?
Freeride ski bindings must absorb shock and transmit power efficiently.
The Salomon Strive 12 GW and Strive 16 MN are the benchmarks: robust, responsive and designed for riders who want to attack without compromise.
If you alternate between freeride and touring, the Shift² 13 MN remains the most versatile choice.
Can I use the same Binding for freeride and Touring ?
Yes, provided you opt for a hybrid binding. Models like the Salomon Shift² 13 MN offer a high-performance touring mode while retaining the safety and downhill behavior of an alpine binding.
It's the perfect choice for skiers who want to climb light and descend hard.
What width should I choose for my stopper ?
The stopper must match the width of your skis at its base. For example, for a ski with a runner width of 100 mm, a stopper with a runner width of 100 to 110 mm will do.
Precise assembly is essential for safety and efficiency: always leave it to a professional workshop.
How to care for your touring or freeride ski bindings
After every ride, clean the bindings to remove snow, ice and moisture. Check the springs and locking system regularly.
An annual workshop check is essential: bindings are the vital link between the skier and the mountain.
Why trust ZAG for your touring and freeride ski bindings ?
Because ZAG tests and selects each model in the real conditions of the Mont-Blanc massif. Our bindings combine lightness, safety and precision to meet the needs of all skiers, from sporty Touring to committed freeride.
It's this commitment, inherited from Chamonix, that makes ZAG a benchmark for mountain enthusiasts.
