ABOUT ZAG
Our vision of skiing: freedom, fluidity, reliability
For more than 20 years, ZAG has been crafting skis in Chamonix, staying closely connected to both the mountain terrain and the people who ride it. Our All-Mountain skis embody this approach — versatile models designed for skiers who refuse to compromise between performance and pleasure.
Before carving your lines in the powder, it's essential to choose the right equipment. At ZAG, every Binding, Pole and freeride accessory is selected or designed to accompany demanding skiers seeking freedom without compromise.
Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about ZAG freeride equipment.
Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about ZAG freeride equipment.
Which Bindings are right for freeriding?
For 100% freeride use, opt for solid, precise Bindings like the Salomon Strive 16 MN or Strive 12 GW: reliable release, solid support and perfect shock absorption.
Riders who alternate between resort and backcountry will opt for the Shift² 13 MN, a must for demanding skiers who want to do it all.
What size Poles should I use for freeriding?
In freeride, slightly shorter poles are preferred to those used on the slopes, for greater stability and responsiveness in powder.
A model like our SOUTH pole offers excellent grip and sturdy construction for dynamic support and mixed terrain.
Why is the choice of equipment crucial in freeriding?
Because every detail counts: the weight of the bindings, the rigidity of the pole, the height of the pivot point...
Good freeride equipment guarantees total control, even in deep snow or rough terrain. That's what allows you to ski hard, long and, above all, with confidence.
Is ZAG freeride equipment compatible with all skis?
Yes, ZAG's bindings and poles are compatible with the majority of freeride skis on the market, including ZAG models. Our products are selected for their versatility and reliability on all types of mountings.
How to maintain your freeride equipment
After each outing, clean your bindings, check the screws and remove all traces of moisture. An annual workshop check-up is highly recommended.
Freeriding puts your equipment to the test. Good maintenance extends the life of your equipment and ensures maximum safety in the mountains.
Why trust ZAG for freeride?
Because ZAG has 20 years' experience in Chamonix, the cradle of modern freeride. Our products are tested, adjusted and validated in the real conditions of the Mont-Blanc massif, by passionate skiers.
Each piece of equipment embodies our vision: freedom, fluidity, reliability, the very essence of freeride.
