Screwing

Check
that the length of the screws is compatible with the ski.
Mounting
Telemark not recommended and guaranteed on lightweight structures such as UBAC and ADRET.
Mounting line
Use the line recommended by ZAG
We recommend that you use the "recommended" mounting line indicated on the skis.
This line was placed during product development by our team of testers. However, we offer two additional lines for the SLAP range:
- RECOMMENDED
As indicated, this stroke is the one recommended by the R&D team and testers. It has been defined as the most suitable position for freeride / all-mountain riding. - PROGRESSIVEThis line has been designed for all those with a skiing style approaching newschool/freestyle. The line is re-advanced to increase pivot ability and balance in the air.
- CENTEREDThis line is only for people who are used to and want to ski with a centered mount. This line
corresponds to the center of the ski's contact line.
SKI MAINTENANCE
Maintaining your skis is essential for optimum performance and durability.
We recommend that you have your
edges and base regularly serviced by a professional.
A visual and tactile check will allow you to feel whether the
edge is rounded or damaged.
Here's our advice.
Edges
An edge with a rounded angle or imperfections in the feel should be re-sharpened, as this can seriously affect the grip and pivot of your skis.
Performing these operations yourself requires a great deal of experience, and can render your pair unskiable if done incorrectly. We therefore recommend that you contact an experienced professional.
Factory settings
- Sharpening angle: 88
- Tipping angles:
- Between 1.5° and 1.25° at tip and tail
- 1° on the rest of the ski.
The base
Your base is the part that guarantees you a good glide on the snow, so check its condition regularly. It must be smooth and waxed.
Waxing makes your base slippery and prevents it from drying out.
We recommend waxing your skis every time you go out in the mountains, to guarantee good glide and also increase the life of the base.
You can have this step done by a professional, or you can do it at home with suitable equipment (waxing iron or an old iron, scraper and brush).
Warning: wax is an element that can end up in nature when skis are used. Be careful not to use fluorinated wax for environmental reasons.
The more you ski, the more your base will be subject to scratches and even holes. These will impact your glide and the durability of
your ski in the event of a through hole.
If you want to repair your base yourself,
you can use Ptex threads (the material that makes up the base). By
melting them, you can plug the holes. However, this kind of repair
is only temporary: there's a risk of the repair coming unstuck and, consequently, of the hole reappearing.
We therefore advise you to have your skis serviced by a professional, who will give you a proper repair that will last over the long term, along with a flattening of your base and a waxing.
We also recommend that you visit a professional on a regular basis, depending on your use, so that he can flatten your shoes and create a base structure that will improve your glide. This step will ensure that you have a pair in good condition.
End of season and storage
Once your ski season is over, it's not enough to simply put your skis away. You need to put a layer of
wax on them without scraping it off, which will protect your edges from rust and keep your base from drying out.
Keep your skis in a cool, dry place.
At the start of the season, take your skis to a professional to get them ready for the next season (remove potential rust from your edges and give them a good structure and wax).
