About ZAG

For over 20 years, ZAG has been designing top-of-the-range touring skis, developed in Chamonix in collaboration with mountain guides. Our UBAC range embodies the very best of our expertise: skis that are light on the ascent, high-performance on the descent, and adapted to all skier profiles. Whether you're new to Touring or a seasoned skier, UBAC skis can take you anywhere.
Why is the choice of skis crucial when touring ?
Unlike classic alpine skiing, Touring skiing involves climbing on your own. This makes weight a fundamental criterion. But reducing weight from equipment doesn't have to sacrifice stability, skiability or safety on challenging terrain.
A good touring ski must :
- be lightweight for climbing efficiency,
- easy lift-off in powder snow
- provide good grip on hard snow
- remain comfortable in all snow conditions,
- be versatile, because we don't always know what kind of snow we're going to encounter.
The right choice for your activity and skill level
You don't choose the same Touring skis for a 600-meter ascent or for a 3-day alpine traverse.
