ABOUT ZAG
Our vision of skiing: freedom, fluidity, reliability
For more than 20 years, ZAG has been crafting skis in Chamonix, staying closely connected to both the mountain terrain and the people who ride it. Our All-Mountain skis embody this approach — versatile models designed for skiers who refuse to compromise between performance and pleasure.
In ski Touring, climbing skins are the essential link between the skier and the mountain.
They allow you to navigate any type of terrain by providing effective traction on the ascent and smooth gliding.

What are Touring ski skins used for Touring
Touring ski skins allow you to climb without sliding in the opposite direction: they grip the snow when leaning and glide in the direction of travel.
Made from mohair or a mohair/nylon mix, they guarantee a perfect balance between grip on the way up and glide on the flat.
What is the difference between mohair and synthetic fabrics?
- 100% mohair skins provide exceptional glide and are ideal for long ascents or athletic outings.
- Mixed mohair/nylon skins (like those in the UBAC range) offer greater resistance and durability, perfect for regular use in all conditions.
The choice depends on your riding style: pure performance or all-purpose ruggedness.
How do you choose skins for Touring skis Touring
Always choose your touring skins according to the model and width of your skis.
ZAG UBAC skins (89, 95, 102, 108) are pre-cut to fit each pair perfectly, guaranteeing optimal fit without additional cutting.
Precise fitting maximizes efficiency and prevents snow infiltration.
How do I care for my touring skins?
After each outing, dry your skins at room temperature, away from a direct source of heat.
Remove any impurities and store them with their protective netting to preserve the glue. Regular maintenance prolongs the life of your skins and preserves their grip, even after several seasons.
What should I do if my skins aren't sticking properly anymore?
If the glue loses its effectiveness, it can be re-glued with special glue strips, or serviced by a specialist workshop.
Always avoid placing skins on wet snow before gluing: this greatly reduces adhesion.
Are ZAG skins compatible with other skis?
ZAG UBAC skins are primarily designed to fit skis in the same range, but may also be suitable for other models of similar width.
For optimum compatibility, always check the runner width of your skis before purchase.
Why choose Touring ski skins?

ZAG UBAC skins combine grip, glide and durability to accompany every ascent with confidence. That's the ZAG spirit: freedom, fluidity and reliability for mountain performance.
