UBAC

95

The shape

Floats soft, turns tight.

The Ubac 95 lifts at both tip and tail, so it planes up in fresh snow and releases easily when you want to change direction. Ninety-five millimeters underfoot sit right in the middle, wide enough to stay afloat on a powder morning, trim enough to hold an edge when the snow firms up by afternoon. The light core keeps the whole thing quick on the climb and easy to swing in tight spots. It never asks you to commit to one style. Point it, pivot it, let it run. It goes along with whatever the terrain needs.

The ski

The one for the unknown day.

This is the ski for the tour where the conditions are a mystery until you are out in them. Skinning through deep trees where you need a ski that turns short and floats. Open bowls where you want to link fast, surfy turns. Wind-scoured ridges and soft pockets in the same descent, handled on one pair. It is the ski you reach for when you would rather not own a quiver, good enough in every corner of the backcountry that you forget about the ski at all. For pure distance take the 89, for deep days the 110. For everything between, this is the one.

Shaper's Note

Made to never be the wrong ski.

We shaped the Ubac 95 to be the ski you never regret bringing. The aim was balance. Enough width and rocker to float, enough edge and backbone to hold, all kept light enough to climb without complaint. We skied it in every condition the massif threw at us, deep and soft, wind-packed and firm, adjusting the shape until none of them caught it out. Too specialised and it would shine one day and struggle the next. One ski that is quietly good everywhere.

Construction

Lightweight Construction:
One goal: to provide skiers with a lightweight, comfortable ski for all snow conditions. This is achieved through a combination of fiberglass and carbon fibers, making the skis in the Freerando line twice as torsionally stiff. The paulownia wood core saves a few extra grams without compromising the ski’s feel on the snow or its long-term durability, as a foam core might. The ABS sidewalls and high-strength steel edges ensure these skis can withstand the bumps and impacts they’ll encounter throughout the winter. A construction that allows freerando skiers to ski in complete safety!

Semi-Cap:
Our SEMI-CAP sandwich construction ensures optimal power transfer throughout the ski and provides the skier with all the grip needed on the hardest snow. The skis’ durability is also extended thanks to the ABS sidewalls (increased resistance to cold and impacts).

Rockers & Camber

Tip Rocker “25%”
Tail Rocker “15%”

Moderate camber

Shape

Multi-radius shape:
A ski design method that allows the radii to vary across several independent zones (front, middle, rear). This enables a very short radius underfoot (for increased maneuverability) while maintaining forgiving tips in difficult snow conditions.

Flex

Stiffness:
4/5

Torsional stiffness:
Medium flex that offers a good balance between power and forgiveness.

Who is the UBAC 95 designed for?

For the hiker who refuses to compromise, and the intermediate to advanced skier who wants a single pair of skis for the vast majority of their outings. It’s the Swiss Army knife of the lineup: the perfect balance between ascending and descending.

Which size of UBAC 95 should I choose?

The UBAC 95 is available in 158 and 166 cm for women, 173 cm for unisex, and 178 and 185 cm for men. For a classic Touring , choose your usual size or 5 cm smaller.

What are the dimensions and radius of the UBAC 95?

The UBAC 95 measures 95 mm at the base. Dimensions range from 128.5 × 95 × 113 mm for the 158-cm model to 131 × 95 × 116 mm for the 185-cm model, with a radius ranging from 16 to 20 m. Detailed measurements by size are listed in the table on the product page.

How much does the UBAC 95 weigh?

The UBAC 95 weighs from 1,240 g for the 158 cm length to 1,490 g for the 185 cm length, per ski.

What is the profile of UBAC 95?

Medium camber, slight double rocker, medium flex, medium turn radius.

Which " Bindings " should be installed on the UBAC 95?

The UBAC 95 is designed to be paired with an insert- Binding : the FORGE[Tour] (DIN 4-10, 91, 97, or 102 mm brakes) or the FORGE[Pro] (DIN 3-11), for example.

Is the installation of the Bindings s included with the UBAC 95?

Yes, assembly is included if you purchase Bindings at the same time as your skis and provide us with the necessary assembly information (boot shell length in mm / skier's weight / skier's skill level / skier's age).

Why is the UBAC 95 considered the most versatile model in the lineup?

Its width places it in the 90–100 mm range: narrow enough to follow existing tracks without extra effort, wide enough to provide floatation in soft snow. Its sturdy yet precisely lightweight construction aids in ascents, while its stiffness unleashes power on the descent.

Which skin should be used for the UBAC 95?

A 95 mm ZAG skin, available in Pro or Classic. Three sizes: S for height 158, M for 166 and 173, L for 178 and 185.

Should I choose the UBAC 95 or the UBAC 102?

The profile differs between the two models. The 95 retains a medium camber and a slight double rocker, maintaining a balanced approach to both ascents and descents. The 102 features a low camber with a pronounced double rocker and is clearly geared toward descents, weighing 180 to 200 g more per ski.
